2019 Tour De Pines / Itasca State Park

Welcome to our 11th annual Tour De Pines Bike Ride!  We offer great routes in an iconic Minnesota State Park, helpful volunteer support, and, commonly, good weather.  Whether this is your first or 11th year, you will find we are a very friendly event and feel honored by your participation.

Our rest stops will be stocked, water jugs filled and volunteers ready to make this your favorite summer day in 2019.

The Morning of the Ride

The bike ride starts and ends at the Mississippi Headwaters Hostel, located in the heart of Itasca State Park, across from the public boat landing on Lake Itasca. Itasca State Park is 23 miles north of Park Rapids on Hwy 71.

The Lavender Run is an event you won’t want to miss! This inaugural RunFit run will take place in the beautiful Village of Los Ranchos (Los Poblanos Open Space and adjoining neighborhoods) on the trail and roadways and starts and finishes at the annual Lavender Festival. Complimentary entry into the Lavender Festival, great t-shirt and a whole lot of fun!

Secret City Triathlon

Unique 100 meter outdoor pool with AGE GROUP WAVE STARTS make this a race not to miss! Waves will have only 15 to 20 per wave – TBD a few days prior to event. Race starts at 7:30 AM EST . Arrive at site no later than 6:30 AM EST for ample time for parking, packet pickup and getting ready for event starting promptly at 7:30 AM EST.

Age Groups and Awards: Overall awards for the top three male and female finishers & top three male and female masters. Age group awards for first, second, and third place in the following M & F age groups: 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45- 49, 50-55, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over & top 3 Clydesdale & Athena. Open Relay Division: Male, Female, and Co-ed.

Personal Best Racing has a NO REFUND policy.  If there is an event that occurs that you require a deferral, there will be a transfer fee to transfer your registration.  Please email race director if you have any questions. 

Event Cancellation / Modification Policy – If Natural Disaster or Community Disaster occurs, our action steps are as follows:

1.Personal Best Racing in concert with local officials will make decisions based on safety first. 2. Courses and/or race segments will be altered as agreed to between Personal Best Racing and local officials 3. Financial: It is not financially feasible for Personal Best Racing to accept the risk of a disaster for everyone. Each registered participant needs to accept the risk of his or her entry fee. There will be NO REFUNDS or free entries to future races. The money you paid is spent developing the subject event. 4. Personal Best Management does not save any money if one of our events has to be canceled for reasons beyond our control. All supplies and services needed for the events are purchased and/or arranged in advance. All event supplies and services associated with that event must be paid for, regardless of the outcome.

Event Shirts – Event shirts are NOT guaranteed to participants registering within 2 weeks of each event. Please register prior to 2 weeks prior to guarantee your race shirt.

Join us on July 3rd for the Palmetto Bluff Freedom 5K.  100% of the registration fee from the race goes to benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. 

Location: Start and Finish in front of the River House in Wilson Village.

Online Registration closes at 5:00PM on 7/1. Race day registration and packet pick up begins at 7:00AM race morning 7/3 and closes at 7:45AM.

$25 fee per runner/participant. $35 race day registration. Race t-shirts guaranteed to pre-registered runners by June 19th.

The Independence 5k and 10k Run JULY 7, 2019

Celebrate America’s birthday by running a 5k or 10k!

On July 7th, we’re hosting the 2ND ANNUAL Independence Run, a running event to celebrate the 243rd birthday of the United States of America!

The 2nd Annual Independence Run is benefitting the Stano Foundation, a non-profit organization that puts together care packages for troops serving overseas.

This is a 5k walk/run and 10k run.  Both events are timed and every bib will have a timing chip.  Finishers get a race t-shirt, and a custom medal.  If you’ve ever ran one of our races, then you know our medals are AWESOME!

This course utilizes the Al Lopez Park large and small loop.

Picktown Palooza July 4, 2019

The Freedom 5k & Kids’ Fun Run is a family friendly event to celebrate the birth of our nation.

Take a break from the concrete as this event is a 5k run that winds its way through the Pickerington High School North XC course. The 5k course is an OHSAA certified 5,000m course with varied terrain through woods and practice fields. There is very little elevation change on the course. Over 1200m of the course is run through wooded terrain.

The Central Ohio Regional Cross Country Championship is run on the Pickerington North XC course. The start and finish area is located within 100m of each other for a spectator-friendly viewing of the race. The run includes a Kids’ Fun Run in advance of the 5k event, so be sure to bring the whole family!

Parkinson’s Wellness Expo

The annual Parkinson’s Wellness Expo is the most popular event each year with the Greater Tallahassee Parkinson’s community, with over 250 attendees last year.  The Expo features representatives from the medical community, pharmaceutical companies, home health care and assisted living facilities, fitness organizations, as well as exhibits, informative resources, and educational activities aimed at teaching people what it’s like to have Parkinson’s disease.

The Expo showcases local resources available to assist people with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers; educational activities that teach people what it’s like to have Parkinson’s; and exercise programs to fight the debilitating motor symptoms of  the disease. Additionally, representatives from hospitals and clinics, fitness organizations, pharmaceutical companies, home health care and assisted living facilities and others are on-site to share their information with visitors.

Money raised from Expo sponsors and walkers supports the Parkinson’s Outreach Association with our mission to promote awareness for Parkinson’s disease and provide local support, information, education and advocacy for people in our community affected by the disease, including caregivers, family and friends. Sponsorship opportunities and benefits are listed below.

AIDS + CANCER RUN WALK

REGISTER NOW! for the June 9, 2019, 12th annual 5k AIDS Cancer Run Walk in Baldwin Park, 9 AM start, in Baldwin, NY is now open for runners, walkers and fundraisers. Says Mike Polansky, President of the Greater Long Island Running Club, consisting of 4,000+ members,  “There is no harder working team of race directors on Long Island than Richard and Jodi Brodsky, and they went all out to assure the success of this year’s event, (2010) and a field of 278 finishers on the busiest day of the Long Island racing year attested to how well they did their job. Nice flat course, plentiful refreshments, a generous raffle — it’s a race by runners for runners! Try it next year.”

This is an awesome race, both historic and contemporary (that makes total sense right?)

It’s a great way to get your 4th of July off right – with a great run!

Starts at  8 a.m. (sharp!) at Mahopac high school, Mahopac, NY on Baldwin Place road in front of school
Finish: on Mahopac High School track
Kids’ Run at 10am – kids will enjoy running for fun on the Mahopac High school track! Registration for Kids’ runs on day of race only.


What’s it like?

Course –Scenic, flat to rolling loop course around Mahopac Lake The first mile includes a downhill, and the second has a uphill stretch. Miles 3-5 are flat; miles 6 and 7 are rolling to downhill; and mile 8 is flat—finishing on the high school track.
Mile markers at every mile. Plenty of water stops (miles 2,4.5,6,7, and in front of various lake houses).

What do I get out of it, I mean other than another sweet race under my belt?

T-shirts – Pre-registration guarantees a technical T-shirt! T-shirts on race day while supplies last.
Awards: Presented in all TRRC age categories. Top 3 overall males and females and 1-3 in 5 year age categories (under 20 –2 age groups: 16 and under and 17-19) will receive awards.
Awards include New Balance Westchester gift certificates for overall and all first, second and third place age group winners. Run on Hudson Valley is generously raffling off a pair of shoes (enter raffle at their table after race-do not need to be present to win!). Overall winners (top 3 male and female) also get a carton of My brother Bobby’s Salsa.

Post Race Party: refreshments, food and music –including Bagels by Somers Hot bagels; Salsa by Mr Brother Bobby’s Salsa; fruit and drinks from Stop ‘n Shop Baldwin Place
